This information is provided by St Ellens Private Hospital (Livingston).
Cosmedicare was founded in 2016 and we opened our Livingston hospital in 2021, providing services to patients predominantly from across the Scottish Central Belt although, for certain procedures, the client base is UK-wide. The service covers a wide range of procedures, including general surgery, bariatrics, reconstructive surgery, urology, gynaecology and skin cancer solely within the private, self-pay sector. We employ a team of circa 30 which includes our theatre and post-op care teams, administration and support services teams as well as senior managers. Currently we work with a team of healthcare professionals who have practicing privileges at Livingston, comprising 15 surgeons and 12 consultant anaesthetists, most of whom also hold NHS posts. The Livingston service is available to adults aged 18 years and over, on a self-pay basis. The median age group is presently 40-44 years old. The service provides medical and surgical assessment and treatment in both in-patient (20%) and daycase clinic (80%) environments. We offer general surgical procedures including the management of patients who would previously have been on the NHS exceptional pathway, and providing services including urology, weight loss and therapeutic GI procedures, skin lesion/cancer treatments, etc. The patient gender split is currently 80% female, 18% male and 2% non-gender specific. The Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) registration number for the service is 01976.
