Mr Zuhair Saidan

Mr Zuhair Saidan, M.B, B.Ch, FRCS(Ed) trained in General Surgery in Leeds/Yorkshire, followed y Specialist Training in Breast Surgery in London and Edinburgh. I obtained the Surgical Fellowship in 1984 and was appointed as a consultant breast surgeon at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals in 1997. My specialist interests are in Breast cancer management and reconstructive breast surgery, breast reductions, breast screening, general surgery and hernia surgery. I had a lifelong interest in breast cancer diagnosis and management with a particular interest in reconstructive breast surgery.  I am highly trained General Surgeon and has extensive experience of hernia surgery and lumps surgery. Academic Background I was the Clinical Lead of the department of breast surgery at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals from 2007 till 2013 and led the department in establishing the Central Lancashire Breast Unit. I was appointed as the Chair of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Breast Cancer Network from 2013 till 2019 during which time I oversaw the introduction of several innovative national developments. My work was recognised nationally and I was awarded a National Clinical Excellence Award. I have presented and contributed to International and National meetings. I was recently invited to two International meetings in Alexandria and Dubai to present my surgical techniques. I still hold my NHS Consultant post at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and have final year trainees and specialist fellows in Breast Surgery.
