Mr Zac Koshy

Dr Zac Koshy MBBS, MRCO, FRCS, DNB Zac graduated from the Armed Forces Medical College, India in 1996. After completing his basic ophthalmic training at the Aravind Eye Network he underwent higher specialist training in Glasgow followed by fellowships in surgical retina and medical retina in Glasgow and Newcastle. He is a consultant in NHS Ayrshire and Arran and the Golden Jubilee National Hospital Glasgow, where his main areas of interest are advanced cataract surgery and treatment of retinal disorders. He was the clinical director of the department and in addition is in charge of post graduate training in both departments and sits on the West of Scotland training committee. He was the Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee at the Nuffield Hospital in Glasgow and recently chatted the body that produced National Guidelines for cataract surgery through Healthcare Improvement Scotland. He has an active research interest with a number of papers and publications to his credit as well as involvement in multicentre trials. He was nominated by the RNIB for "Eyecare professional of the year' in 2024.
