This information is provided by Mr Yujay Ramakrishnan.
I am an experienced Consultant Otolaryngologist based within Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham. My expertise is focused within the provision of sinus surgery, rhinoplasties, snoring and complex skull base surgery, but extends further within the wider scope of ear, nose and throat (ENT) practice. Working in an NHS tertiary centre allows a significant proportion of my workload to focus on revision and complex cases.
Graduating from the University of Cambridge in 2001, I completed my pre-registration house jobs in Cambridge and Norwich. I pursued general surgical training in Newcastle upon Tyne, proceeding with further training in London at the renowned Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital, Guys Hospital and St Bartholomew's Hospital.
I completed my ear, nose and throat Specialist training in the Northern Deanery. To facilitate further development in my rhinological expertise, I subsequently pursued two very prestigious national surgical fellowships: the Training Interface Cosmetic and the premier Advanced Rhinology Skull Base Fellowship (Birmingham).
I maintain an enthusiastic focus on research within the scope of my work. I continue to regularly publish research findings from projects and clinical trials in peer-reviewed journals and to participate as a reviewer of peer submitted work with a number of prestigious journals.
I have a keen appreciation of the importance of knowledge transfer within the field, and thus regularly participate in and provide surgical teaching and training at all levels, and sit as a member of the Nottingham Cadaveric Surgical Training steering committee.
