Special clinical interests
Having been trained in Orthopaedic Surgery in the 1980s I have a very general practice. I have looked after the needs of patients with Inflammatory joint problems since 1992 which has meant operating on most areas of the skeleton. My most commonly performed operations are hip and knee replacement and revisions, but I also undertake more general procedures such as most types of foot and ankle surgery, and common hand operations. I carry out assessment of soft tissue knee problems and carry out meniscal surgery, but I send patients who need cruciate ligament surgery to colleagues who carry out arthroscopic ligament reconstruction. I am happy to assess patients with spinal problems and investigate further with scans, although I would refer them on to colleagues if they required consideration for spinal surgery.
