Mr Vijay Wagh – Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon Mr Vijay Wagh is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London , with specialist expertise in cataract surgery, oculoplastic surgery and external eye disease . He provides assessment and treatment for a wide range of general and emergency eye conditions. His specialist practice includes cataract surgery , as well as oculoplastic surgery , covering conditions affecting the eyelids, tear drainage system and surrounding structures of the eye. His areas of particular expertise include eyelid lumps and lesions, ptosis (droopy eyelids), dermatochalasis and functional eyelid surgery, eyelid malpositions such as entropion and ectropion, and lacrimal surgery for patients with persistent watery eyes or blocked tear ducts. Mr Wagh completed his higher specialist ophthalmic surgical training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Barts and The London , followed by further advanced training in cataract, anterior segment and oculoplastic surgery at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital . He is actively involved in teaching and training and has taught ophthalmology trainees, optometrists and other healthcare professionals. He has presented at professional meetings and conferences and has contributed to a number of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Mr Wagh places particular emphasis on providing patients with a clear explanation of their condition and treatment options, with treatment tailored to the individual patient’s needs and expectations.
