I graduated from Cambridge in 1988 and trained in the UK, USA and Europe. I have had a lifelong interest in thyroid surgery and endocrine surgery; and was the first graduate to pass the specialist paper in endocrine surgery at FRCS. I lead the endocrine surgery team at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in Central London and am considered a high volume and specialist endocrine surgeon. My lengths of stay are amongst the lowest in the country. In addition I am a high volume enthusiastic hernia surgeon; having performed some thousands of repairs. I use a robot assisted laparoscopic technique in most cases. I am clinical director of surgery at my NHS Hospital and have now moved my private practice to the Cleveland Clinid in London, a new hospital which is part of the worldwide and world famous Cleveland Clinic group.
