Dr Vasileios Angelis is a Consultant Medical Oncologist specialising exclusively in breast cancer, with expertise spanning early-stage and advanced breast cancer, immunotherapy, HER2-positive disease, triple-negative breast cancer, endocrine therapy, and novel targeted treatments. He currently practises at Barts Health NHS Trust and has trained at leading UK cancer centres including The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Angelis has extensive specialist training and clinical experience across all major breast cancer subtypes, including hormone receptor-positive, HER2-positive, triple-negative, inflammatory, and lobular breast cancer. He has particular expertise in systemic therapies including endocrine therapy, CDK4/6 inhibitors, antibody–drug conjugates, immunotherapy, and precision oncology approaches, with a strong focus on delivering highly personalised treatment strategies throughout all stages of disease. His international clinical and academic experience includes oncology placements and collaborations in Malawi, Greece, and Vienna, contributing to a broad perspective on cancer care across diverse healthcare systems. He has extensive experience in breast cancer clinical trials and translational research, serving as principal investigator, chief investigator, and sub-investigator on multiple national and international studies across all major breast cancer subtypes and disease settings. His research interests include immunotherapy in triple-negative breast cancer, antibody–drug conjugates, circulating tumour DNA technologies, cardio-oncology, and biomarker-driven treatment strategies. He has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading oncology journals including The Lancet, The Lancet Oncology, Annals of Oncology, and Breast Cancer Research and Treatment. Dr Angelis is also a member of the scientific committee for Lobular Breast Cancer UK, contributing to research, education, and advocacy initiatives focused on invasive lobular breast cancer. He holds a PhD in Clinical Cancer Proteomics from University of Leeds and is actively involved in postgraduate oncology education as a Clinical Lecturer and breast cancer module lead for MSc Oncology programmes at The Institute of Cancer Research and Queen Mary University of London.
