GMC reg: 6106666Mr. Cudrnak MD FRCOphth FEBO is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with extensive training and experience in the UK and EU. His main sub-speciality interest and expertise is in the Cataract surgery (including complex procedures, premium intraocular lenses to treat presbyopia, exchange of already implanted lenses) and retinal diseases (including age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular occlusions, diabetic eye disease, inflammatory eye conditions and others). After graduation in 2000 he entered training in the EU and later in 2004 moved to the UK to further broaden his experience and skills. He successfully concluded his training by passing the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and European Board of Ophthalmologists exams ( awarded overall 2nd place in the 2010 exam) and became a consultant ophthalmic surgeon in January 2011, initially at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and since 2014 at the University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. Since then he has been providing a high quality NHS and private cataract surgery services in the South West and has performed more than 10,000 cataract surgeries up to this date. He used to work at the independent health provider Practice Plus Group Plymouth (formerly Care UK) between 2014 and 2022. Since August 2022 he works at the Newmedica Plymouth Joint Venture where he is a partner as well. Mr. Cudrnak also offers his expertise in the management of a variety of general eye conditions and a high level of sub-speciality care in retinal diseases including intra-vitreal and laser treatments. Mr. Cudrnak constantly seeks to improve patients' experience with better clinical pathways and environment. He carefully listens to patients’ needs, explains clearly the treatment options and fully involves patients in the decision making process. He uses his communication skills developed over many years of medical practice to put patients at ease and to feel comfortable before and during the surgery. He plans with each patient post treatment after care so is suitable for each individual patient and their particular circumstances.
