Mr Timothy Kane

I am a fellowship trained specialist hip and knee replacement surgeon. I qualified from St Bartholomew's Hospital in 1996. I undertook higher surgical training in trauma and orthopaedic surgery in the Wessex Deanery developing an interest in trauma and hip and knee arthroplasty. This was furthered with specialist fellowship as Arthroplasty Fellow and Lecturer at The Royal Adelaide Hospital (2008/9). I am a consultant at Queen Alexandra Hospital (QAH) where I have a busy elective and trauma practice. I am on the trauma rota managing general trauma and periprosthetic fractures (fractures around joint replacements). I have a further interest in the management of elderly hip fracture patients and the management of joint infections.  I have lower than expected revision rates for Hip replacements on National Joint Register (NJR) for the last 12 years of my consultant practice. This is backed up with patient reported outcome data (PROMS), presented as part of my annual appraisal. I am delighted to make this available on request. I endevour to provide patients with the time and space required to make a truly informed decision about whether or not they wish to proceed with surgery.
