1998 Mr Tim Blackburn graduated from King's College medical school, University of London with MBBS honours (distinction in Surgery & the Cheyne-Edwards prize in Surgery). 1998-2002 Basic Surgical Training in London & 2002-2006 Higher Surgical Training including Facial cosmetic / reconstructive surgery in Liverpool 2006 Mr Blackburn awarded the Intercollegiate BAOMS gold medal in his exit examination, becoming accredited as a board-certified specialist in Facial surgery registered with the GMC. 2007-present Medical Director of skn clinic Manchester, with interest in facial cosmetic laser and non-surgical treatments 2007: 12 month advanced interface fellowship in Head and Neck surgery including facial reconstructive/reanimation surgery in Manchester. 2008 Mr Blackburn was appointed as a consultant at Manchester Royal Infirmary, having subpecialist interests in head & neck oncology, craniofacial microvascular reconstruction & facial palsy reanimation. 2009 - present: Spire Cheshire Hospital - Facial Cosmetic Surgery practice. 2010 A research innovation Landscape Shift award from Manchester University followed. 2011 NHS Clinical Excellence Award. 2013 served 3 year term as Clinical Director for the Maxillo-Facial Unit at Manchester Royal Infirmary. 2013-2017 Secretary-General for International Academy of Oral & Facial Rehabilitation. 2013 Member of Medical Advisory Committee for Facial Palsy UK. In addition to attending conferences, Mr Blackburn makes regular visits to internationally respected Facial Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgeons for personally arranged observerships - to date, including surgeons in Paris, New York, Toronto, Chicago, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Milan, Glasgow & London. Mr Blackburn has an interest in surgical research, education and publications - with 26 publications, 51 podium presentations including 14 at international conferences, 16 at national conferences & has given invited lectures in USA, Europe, Hong Kong and UK on topics including Facial Cosmetic Surgery, Reconstruction & Rehabilitation. 2016 appointed as an Examiner for UK exit examinations for Maxillo- Facial Surgeons with UK JCIE. 2018 Runner-up -Trainer of the Year for the UK national association BAOMS. Registrations: 2006: GMC specialist Board-Registered in Maxillo- Facial Surgery 2018: Certified Cosmetic Surgeon on the Royal College of Surgeons of England register - certified for cosmetic procedures to face, nose, ears & eyelids. Memberships of Surgical Societies: European Academy Facial Plastic Surgeons European Association of Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Surgeons British Society Rhinoplasty Surgeons, International Academy of Oral and Facial Rehabilitation, Facial Palsy UK, BAOMS.
