Consultant Interventional Radiologist at one of London’s leading teaching hospitals, King’s College Hospital. She qualified from King’s College London in 1992 and specialises in endovascular surgical techniques. She works in a dynamic major trauma centre, managing complex vascular conditions, and also practices at St Thomas’ Hospital as part of an integrated aortic service. Dr Ammar is dual accredited, having gained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2001. She has maintained a strong academic and clinical interest in venous vascular disease for over 20 years and has worked as an Investigator within the Academic Unit of Vascular Medicine at King’s College London, running clinical trials. Dr Ammar is well published in this field, with multiple peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals. She regularly presents her work at national and international conferences, where she is frequently invited to lecture and chair sessions. She continues to be actively involved in research as an Investigator on several ongoing clinical studies. Her contributions have been recognised with numerous awards, including honours from the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) and the British Society of Interventional Radiologists (BSIR). She is deeply passionate about teaching and greatly enjoys her role as a clinical and educational supervisor for interventional radiology trainees. In particular, she takes pride in teaching cutting-edge, minimally invasive techniques, both within her institution and as an invited expert at national training courses.
