GMC reg: 2803872I qualified in medicine (with Commendation) from QUB in 1983. Following pre-registration jobs in Belfast I have held full unbroken registration with the GMC. I trained as a postgraduate in General Medicine in Northern Ireland and then Cardiology in Northern Ireland and Boston, USA, sub-specialising in Clinical Electrophysiology. I have been a Consultant in Northern Ireland from 1993 until retirement in 2019 and have continued in private practice until December 2024. I was Training Program Director for Cardiology training for many years and am an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Queen's University. I am a Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of both Edinburgh and London have been an MRCP (UK) examiner for many years. I have written or co-authored over 40 original research papers.
Cardiology - Electrophysiology
I specialise in adult general cardiology including angina, coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, heart valve disease, cardiomyopathies and arrhythmias. I have a subspecialist interest in clinical electrophysiology.
