He was instrumental in introducing robotic joint replacement surgery at Walsall Manor Hospital, making it the first District General Hospital in the UK to establish a robotic arthroplasty programme. Under his leadership, the unit has developed one of the country's leading enhanced recovery and day-case joint replacement pathways, achieving exceptionally high same-day discharge rates. This innovative work has received national recognition from the Health Service Journal (HSJ) and continues to influence the delivery of modern joint replacement surgery. Mr Moores completed his specialist orthopaedic training at the internationally renowned Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry, before undertaking an advanced fellowship in Revision Hip and Knee Arthroplasty at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. During this fellowship he gained expertise in complex hip and knee reconstruction, management of failed joint replacements, severe bone loss, acetabular discontinuity and advanced 3D surgical planning. His commitment to continual improvement was recognised through selection as the UK representative for the prestigious ASG Travelling Fellowship, where he visited internationally recognised orthopaedic centres across Europe to learn from world-leading surgeons and bring innovative techniques back to the UK.
