Mr Tariq Ahmad

Mr. Tariq Ahmad is a highly respected Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeon with over 25 years of surgical experience. He is the founder and Medical Director of Cambridge Clear Beauty, a CQC-registered private clinic renowned for excellence in cosmetic surgery and non-surgical treatments. Mr. Ahmad also holds consultant positions at Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital, Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, and Fitzwilliam Hospital Peterborough. He was educated at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Lancashire, achieving four A grades at A-Level before reading Medicine at St Peter’s College, Oxford. He continued his clinical training at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, qualifying in 1982. His postgraduate surgical training included general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, ENT, and plastic surgery, with specialist training in cleft lip and palate surgery across major UK centres, including Great Ormond Street and Edinburgh. Mr. Ahmad is widely known for combining clinical excellence with artistry. He studied fine art at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art during his time at Oxford and has exhibited work at Kettle’s Yard Museum in Cambridge. His artistic eye significantly influences his surgical practice, particularly in achieving natural-looking outcomes. He has contributed to the development of regional cleft services such as CLEFTSiS (Cleft Network in Scotland) and Cleft.NET.East, and has been involved in national audits and research in plastic surgery. He is also a published author and surgical innovator, having developed the “double loop mattress suture,” now widely used in cleft repair surgery.

Mr. Ahmad’s special clinical interests lie in aesthetic surgery of the face, breast, and body. He is especially known for his work in rhinoplasty (nose reshaping), facelift surgery, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), and breast augmentation , with a focus on delivering elegant, natural results tailored to each individual. His signature techniques often involve minimal scarring and long-lasting outcomes, reflecting his belief in subtle enhancement over overt alteration. He has developed significant expertise in complex cleft lip and palate surgery , and has contributed to national research and training in this subspecialty. His innovation, the double loop mattress suture, is now used internationally in cleft lip repairs. Mr. Ahmad also has a strong interest in skin cancer treatment , including the surgical management of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. He undertook molecular research on melanoma at the MRC Laboratories in Cambridge. In the non-surgical arena, he offers a full range of aesthetic treatments including Botox, fillers, skin rejuvenation, and laser therapies , always underpinned by safety and artistry. His holistic and ethical approach places the patient at the center, ensuring their aesthetic goals are met with care and precision. He is a member of BAAPS, BAPRAS, and the Royal Society of Medicine, and his clinic was recognised in 2024 with the Safety in Beauty Award for Best Surgical Facility & Team .
