Mr Tarek El Shamy

Mr Tarek El Shamy is Fellow of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He qualified as a doctor from Cairo University in 2004 and trained in North West London hospitals. Mr El Shamy is a gynaecological surgeon with twenty years of experience. He specialises in early pregnancy and gynaecological ultrasound, colposcopy, urogynaecology (management of prolapse & urinary incontinence), management of menstrual disorders, fibroids, and ovarian cysts. He employs open, vaginal, hysteroscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic-assisted surgical techniques.  Mr El Shamy provides preconception, antenatal, and intrapartum care for women with low-risk pregnancies and those needing special obstetric attention. As a complex obstetric surgeon, he offers comprehensive support to women with low-lying placenta, placenta accreta spectrum, multiple repeat caesarean births, and uterine fibroids.  He prioritises patient involvement, ensuring his patients are at the forefront of decision-making. Mr El Shamy speaks both English and Arabic, ensuring clear communication and a more personalised experience for his patients.
