Dr Tania Pawade

Tania Pawade is a consultant Cardiologist who has a broad range of experience in all aspects of cardiology. She specialises in the management of heart failure, heart rhythm abnormalities and the implantation of cardiac devices. Tania is passionate about ensuring that all patients have access to high quality care. She is the lead for the development of the cardiac devices and cardiac rhythm management service at the RUH. Within a year of her appointment as a consultant, specialised pacemakers for the prevention and treatment of heart failure started being implanted routinely at the RUH. She has also introduced several measures to improve patient safety and experience. She consistently receives positive feedback by patients, colleagues and in her appraisals. She was recently thanked by the Chief Executive of the Royal United Hospital for her patient care. She graduated from Birmingham University in 2005 with honours in Medicine and First class honours in Biomedical Science. She began her cardiology training in Birmingham before achieving a British Heart Foundation Scholarship to undertake her PhD at the University of Edinburgh where then she then completed her training. She travelled to Melbourne in 2020 to undertake a prestigious international fellowship in Cardiac rhythm management. Tania has won national prizes and has co-authored over 40 publications in prestigious journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine. Her research has informed the guidelines for the management of heart valve disease in Europe and the United States.  Whilst it is preferred so that she will have a greater understanding of your medical history, Tania does not require a GP referral for you to book an appointment to see her.
