Dr Swaroop Nimmakayalu Sampu

I was born in India and I completed my graduation in medicine in 1998 from Bangalore. I later did my post graduation leading to an award of MD in Anaesthesia in 2001. I later arrived in UK in 2002 and I successfully completed my CCST in 2009. During my training in anaesthetics I developed a passion for pain management which led to my career as a consultant in pain medicine. I have been a substantive consultant in NHS since 2009 and I do have practising privileges at the Spire hospital (Hull and East Riding ) . During the last 10 years of my career I have had the pleasure to contribute to this field of my passion. ‘Clinical excellence award’-level 1, HEY trust, April2016 Clinical lead for Pain Medicine-HUTH NHS trust(2012-2021) Author and publisher of patient information leaflets for pain procedures and drugs. (2015) Was a recipient of the “Top 20” Spire consultant awards for 2014 Finalist at the ‘Golden hearts awards’-2014 in the category for “HEY we are making it better Author of “Analgesia algorithm for management of chronic non malignant pain in Adults in the community”- Hull and East Yorkshire prescribing committee Oct 2011 Passed the World institute of Pain Exam for interventional pain - nominals “ FIPP”-Fellow of interventional pain practice, Budapest 2010. Local Pain Medical Education supervisor for Hull and York Advanced pain training. (2010-2020)
