Mr Sushil Maslekar is a leading consultant colorectal and general surgeon at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Spire Hospital, Leeds and the LivingCare Clinic, Leeds. He is a Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds and the EdgeHill University.     Mr Maslekar undertook clinical research in Hull culminating in a Doctorate in Medicine in 2006 and was awarded the prestigious British Journal of Surgery John Farndon Prize for his work. Mr Maslekar did his specialist training in Yorkshire including at Leeds and Sheffield among other hospitals. He was awarded the first European Society of Coloproctology Pelvic floor fellowship to the prestigious Aarhus University Hospital, Aarhus, Denmark.     Mr Maslekar has keen interest in robotic and laparoscopic surgery, colorectal cancer,  pelvic floor surgery (faecal incontinence, chronic constipation, obstructed defaecation, rectal prolapse, recotocoele) and advanced minimal discomfort colonoscopy. He has special interest in modern management of haemorrhoids (Rafaelo procedure, THD/HALO procedure and haemorrhoidectomy), anal fissures and other proctology issues like fistula, pilonidal sinus. He has a national referral practice in pelvic floor disorders. He offers expert treatment for herniae including laparoscopic (key hole) treatment of Inguinal/ Groin hernia, umbilical hernia, epigastric hernia, femoral hernia, Stoma hernia and Incisional hernia.      Mr Maslekar has also been extensively involved in research during his career and has over 45 peer reviewed journal publications. Mr. Maslekar has over 50 excellent reviews on Doctify and Topdoctors.     Mr Maslekar is an executive council member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGB&I). Mr Maslekar is the Lead clinician for colorectal cancers and pelvic floor disorders at Leeds. Mr Maslekar has a keen interest in training and as the Head of school of surgery, responsible for training of 600 postgraduate surgical trainees.
