Mr Sujay Dheerendra

Mr Sujay Dheerendra is a highly experienced consultant spinal surgeon based in Cheshire, specialising in spinal stenosis, spinal discectomy, and lumbar decompression. He practises privately at  Spire Cheshire Hospital and Spire Liverpool Hospital , providing expert care for patients with back pain, neck pain, and sciatica. His approach focuses on tailored, evidence-based treatments aimed at restoring mobility and improving quality of life. Since January 2025, Mr Dheerendra has held NHS consultant appointments at  Alder Hey Children’s Hospital  and  The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust  in Liverpool. His current NHS practice involves the treatment of both  children and adults with complex spinal conditions , with a particular emphasis on  spinal deformities , including scoliosis and other complex reconstructive spinal disorders. Previously, from 2017, Mr Dheerendra was a consultant spinal surgeon at the  Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital  in Oswestry, where he managed a broad spectrum of adult spinal conditions. These included degenerative spinal disease, spinal deformities, spinal trauma, spinal tumours, and spinal infections. He has performed over  1,000 spinal operations , including complex adult deformity corrections, and is recognised for his expertise in managing challenging spinal cases. He also provides second opinions and regularly collaborates in dual-consultant surgeries for highly complex procedures. Beyond his clinical work, Mr Dheerendra is a committed leader in spinal surgery. He has previously served as  Clinical Lead for Spinal Surgery  within his NHS trust and is actively involved in education, service development, and professional leadership. He is a member of leading professional organisations, including the  British Association of Spinal Surgeons , the  British Scoliosis Society , and the  British Indian Orthopaedic Society .
