GMC reg: 3354977Stuart O'Toole is a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon and Urologist at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Glasgow. He qualified in 1988 from Newcastle University and has trained in Nottingham, New York State and Glasgow. In 1999 he undertook a fellowship in Paediatric Urology at Great Ormond Street Hospital London before his appointment as a consultant at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children “Yorkhill”. Stuart is an editor for the Journal of Paediatric Urology, and an intercollegiate board examiner for both Paediatric Surgery and Urology. He is a past President of the British Association of Paediatric Urologists and has been elected a fellow of the European Academy of Paediatric Urology. Stuart has published articles and book chapters on urinary tract infection in children, undescended testis, urinary incontinence, disorders of the external genitalia and laparoscopic renal surgery. He lectures locally, nationally and internationally on Paediatric Surgery and Urology and runs the annual British Association of Paediatric Urology Course in Queens College Cambridge. Within NHS Scotland, Stuart provides a tertiary paediatric service for all aspects of renal surgery, bladder dysfunction, genital anomalies and incontinence. He also provides surgery for more common penile anomalies, undescended testis, hernia and hydrocele. Stuart also provides a second opinion for children with day and night time wetting, urinary tract infection and vesicoureteric reflux. All children can be reviewed as an outpatient at Ross Hall Hospital and the parents given the correct advice and information they need. Many patients can also be treated here too..
