Miss Stephanie West

Miss Stephanie West BM, FRCOphth, MBA is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Ophthalmic Surgeon in Southampton, specialising in adult and paediatric strabismus (squint), double vision (diplopia), complex ocular motility disorders and children’s eye care. She also provides second opinions and specialist assessment for patients who have undergone previous squint surgery. She has been a consultant at University Hospital Southampton since 2013 and sees private patients at Spire Southampton Hospital. After graduating from the University of Southampton, Miss West completed specialist ophthalmology training in Nottingham and Bristol, followed by fellowships in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at SickKids Toronto and Moorfields Eye Hospital. At SickKids, she received the JD Morin Prize for best fellow. Her approach centres on early, accurate diagnosis and clear explanations, helping patients and families understand their options and make informed decisions. She remains involved in teaching, research and professional education and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
