Mr Srinivasan Subramaniam is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a special interest in complex cataract surgery and laser eye surgery. He is trained in all facets of cataract and refractive surgery including laser treatments. An early adopter of innovative technologies in cataract and refractive surgery, he routinely uses various premium lenses like multifocal lenses, trifocal lenses and accommodative lenses to treat cataract and refractive surgical patients. He also treats dry eye, glaucoma and other general Ophthalmic conditions. He performs YAG laser treatments and some cosmetic procedures like blepharoplasty. He was among the first cohort of Doctors who sat and passed the assessment of Competence in Laser Refractive Surgery conducted by The Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He is now an assessor for competency in laser refractive surgery. He routinely performs lasik and lasek procedures. He trains junior doctors in ophthalmology in particular cataract surgery. He has been for over 10 years a member of the Microsurgical Training Faculty of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He has published papers in several peer review journals. Mr Subramanaim is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS trust. He did his specialist training in the Midlands and at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. Mr Subramaniam has done sub-speciality training in anterior segment surgery. He has been doing refractive surgery for over 15 years including laser refractive surgery. He was in the very first cohort of surgeons invited to take the assessment of competence in laser refractive surgery and have since been an assessor for competence in laser refractive surgery. Mr Subramaniam is fully trained and accredited in the use of various laser platforms for refractive surgery including the use of the femtosecond laser. He is well versed in the use of various premium lenses for cataract and refractive surgery. These include but are not limited to toric monofocal IOL’s, tri-focal IOL’s, multifocal IOL’s and toric mutifocal IOL’s. He has published papers in peer reviewed journals.
