Dr Spyros (Spyridon) Gennatas

Spyros has been a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Guy's and St Thomas' hospital NHS Foundation Trust since 2021. He completed his Oncology training at the Royal Marsden Hospital and holds a PhD from Imperial College London on thymic epithelial tumours. He specialises in the treatment of thoracic tumours, including small and non-small cell lung cancer, thymic epithelial tumours and mesothelioma. He is also the Clinical Lead for the Acute Oncology Service at Guy's and St Thomas' hospitals. His research interests include the development of novel therapeutic agents for the treatment of thoracic cancers, as well as the identification of predictive and prognostic biomarkers to improve patient outcomes. He is the PI and CI for several ongoing, international phase 2 and clinical trials. He has published numerous articles in prestigious, peer-reviewed journals and has presented his research findings at international conferences in the fields of molecular genetics, quality of life in cancer patients, Covid-19 and cancer, and medical oncology.
