He holds full membership of the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS), the International Federation of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), the British Hernia Society (BHS) and the European Hernia Society (EHS). His research interests are in Metabolic & Bariatric surgery and management of Obesity where he has been actively involved in many research projects, and he is the author of several publications in peer reviewed journals and book chapters. Mr Panagiotopoulos is a clinical supervisor for specialist training in Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery for UK trainees and fellows at King's College Hospital and educational supervisor for senior clinical fellows in International Fellowship Program in Metabolic and Diabetes Surgery at King’s (RCSE approved). His personal interests include; sports activities (swimming, tennis & diving), hiking and travelling.
