Dr Sowmya Venkatasubramanian

I went to medical school in Chennai, India and moved to live and work in the UK in 2003. I completed my Cardiology training in 2017 working in hospitals across the West of Scotland and the Southeast of Scotland (Edinburgh). Following completion of my CCT (certificate of completion of training), I undertook a year’s Fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Complex Cardiac Devices at the Scottish National Advanced Heart Failure Service at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Glasgow. I was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert in 2018. I am the clinical lead for the Heart Failure service at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert and one of the three complex cardiac device implanters in the hospital. I welcome referrals in all aspects of general cardiology, heart failure, chest pain, palpitations, hypertension and heart rhythm disturbances.

My clinical interests include heart failure, cardio oncology and cardiac devices (pacemakers, ICDs and CRT devices), in addition to general cardiology.
