Dr Sophie Otter

I work at the Royal Surrey for my NHS practice providing outreach to Ashford and St Peter’s. I also work at Guildford Nuffield and Gensiscare Guildford for my private work. I am passionate about stereotactic radiotherapy for prostate cancer delivered on the MR linac which is the most cutting edge treatment for patients with low and intermediate risk prostate cancers. I went to medical school at Cambridge University and graduated in 2004 with distinctions in Medicine, Surgery and Pathology. My Oncology training was in the Royal Marsden, Brighton and Guildford giving me a broad range of skills and experience. I have an MD Res in pelvic radiotherapy from the University of Surrey and have continued my interest in research by running clinical trials at the Royal Surrey and continuing to publish research.

I specialise in the treatment of prostate, bladder and colorectal cancers with radiotherapy, brachytherapy and systemic therapies (hormones, chemotherapy and immunotherapy). I believe that patients should be involved in the decision making process when it comes to their cancer treatment and therefore like to take time to get to know my patients, what is important to them and how to best support them with their decision, their treatment and their ongoing care.
