Miss Sophie Camp

I studied medicine at the Royal Free and University College Medical School, following a degree in Experimental Psychology at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, and a PhD at the Institute of Neurology, Queen Square. I then completed neurosurgery training on the London (North Thames) Rotation, during which time I was awarded an NIHR Academic Clinical Lectureship and undertook research in the field of neuro-oncology. I was appointed as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in 2016, and became an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London in 2017. I currently works primarily as an adult cranial neurosurgeon, which encompasses neurotrauma and acute neurosurgery (St. Mary’s Hospital/Major Trauma Centre), and neuro-oncology (Charing Cross Hospital). My ongoing research interests are in both neurotrauma and neuro-oncology, focusing predominantly on ultrasound and image analysis. I am co-chief investigator for FUTURE-GB (FUncTional and Ultrasound guided REsection of GlioBlastoma), a NIHR funded, multicentre, intraoperative, randomised controlled trial. I am currently Head of Specialty for Neurosurgery, and co-lead the Neuro-oncology Service at the Trust.

My special clinical interests are in Neuro-oncology including radiosurgery.
