I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in disorders of the hip and knee. I perform high volumes of hip and knee replacements every year as well as having expertise in revision (redo) surgery. In addition I see patients with musculoskeletal injuries around the hip and knee. My practice is highly patient focussed with the aim of tailoring the best solution to each individual. I have a particular enthusiasm for enhanced recovery following surgery and am currently researching several novel methods of improving pain control and outcomes after hip and knee surgery. I am an educational and clinical supervisor to junior doctors in training and hold Honorary Senior Lecturer status at the University of Leeds. I studied medicine at Leeds University Medical School and went on to complete both basic and higher surgical training in the Yorkshire region. I completed the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Tr&Orth) in 2011 and was admitted on to the specialist register in 2012. During my training I obtained a Master of Science degree (MSc) within the field of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. I undertook specialist training with two fellowships in Harrogate and York before furthering my expertise with a fellowship at the world renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford focussing on all aspects of hip and knee surgery.
