Ms Silvana Henari Madi

Ms Madi’s fellowship in refractive surgery, cornea and external diseases was the first at IRFO Eye Institute, Italy. Professor Massimo Busin – one of the eminent leaders in Cornea transplantation, supervised her fellowship. She has gained excellent experience in general ophthalmology. She is proficient in carrying out cataract surgery. Her experience includes complex cases like post-vitrectomy eyes, small pupils, etc. Furthermore, her broad experience across all ophthalmic subspecialties means that she confidently deals with cases as a general ophthalmologist and in Glaucoma and Cornea at Princess Alexandra Hospital. Ms Madi has performed over 40 iStent procedures for Glaucoma patients managing all complex and high-risk Glaucoma cases at Princess Alexandra Hospital. Ms Madi has participated in International conference courses related to new corneal transplantation techniques and has published several journal articles. In addition, she has presented more than 17 well-received papers to international conferences. She participated in the early development of the ZEISS Visumax technology for SMILE. She has also helped develop other laser surgery techniques under the supervision and mentorship of Prof. Osama Ibrahim. Ms Madi has performed more than 300 SMILE treatments – all with exemplary results.
