Miss Shilpa Ojha

Dr. Shilpa Ojha is a Consultant Paediatric ENT Surgeon at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She provides specialist, evidence-based and compassionate care for infants, children and young people. Her practice is centred on clear communication, family-focused decision-making and high-quality outcomes. She completed her training in the UK and a prestigious fellowship at Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. She worked as a consultant at Alder Hey Children's NHS Trust, before being appointed at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust where she is the Paediatric ENT Lead for the service. She has completed a Paediatric ENT Research Fellowship at Harvard University, working at Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. She has presented academically both across the UK and internationally, has over 16 publications in peer-reviewed journals, published textbooks and is an editor for multiple surgical education websites. Her research has resulted in several high quality peer-reviewed publications (including JAMA) particularly focused on the management of laryngeal clefts and other Paediatric ENT disorders. Beyond her clinical practice, she actively engages in medical education, having completed a Masters in Medical Education, enthusiastically working with both medical students and allied specialties to further their knowledge of ENT. She is committed to global healthcare and works with charities. In 2019 she joined the Northern Cleft Foundation Charity as the sole ENT surgeon, treating 110 children in a charitable surgical mission in Nagpur, India. She is known for her calm, child-centred approach and for taking time to explain diagnoses and treatment options clearly to families.
