My specific interest is in gastrointestinal and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. I qualified from University College and Middlesex Hospital School of Medicine in London in 1989 and did most of my training in and around London. My specialist training has involved time at the Chelsea & Westminster, Royal Marsden and Hammersmith Hospitals. I was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust in 2002 and have an extensive NHS clinical practice in both elective and emergency surgery based at Wycombe, Stoke Mandeville and Amersham Hospitals. I am an examiner for The Royal College of Surgeons of England I was a member of the national Specialist Advisory Committee for General Surgery and Training Programme Director for General Surgery in the Thames Valley.
