Recognised by the National Consultant Information Programme (NCIP) as one of the UK's highest-volume arthroplasty surgeons , Mr Hussain has established a reputation and particularly recognised for his expertise in hip resurfacing arthroplasty , revision joint replacement surgery and the management of failed hip and knee replacements. Mr Hussain completed advanced lower limb arthroplasty fellowships at leading UK centres, including the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Nottingham and North Bristol NHS Trust. He was subsequently awarded the prestigious British Hip Society Travelling Fellowship to ENDO-Klinik Hamburg, Germany, one of the world's leading centres for complex revision arthroplasty and prosthetic joint infection management. Mr Hussain has a specialist interest in hip resurfacing arthroplasty and trained under Mr Ronan Treacy , co-designer of the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing (BHR) implant and one of the pioneers of modern hip resurfacing surgery. He subsequently succeeded Mr Treacy's practice and continues this specialist tradition, offering bone-conserving hip resurfacing surgery for young and active patients seeking an alternative to total hip replacement. Mr Hussain is highly regarded for his patient-centred approach and clinical outcomes. He has received the Doctify Outstanding Patient Experience Award for three consecutive years, 2024, 2025 and 2026 , reflecting consistently exceptional patient feedback and satisfaction. Mr Hussain holds several leadership roles at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. He serves as Clinical Service Lead (CSL) for the Outpatient Department and Clinical Lead for the Medical Device Advisory Group (MDAG) , contributing to clinical governance, patient safety, innovation and service development. Mr Hussain remains actively involved in orthopaedic research, education and innovation. He has published peer-reviewed scientific articles, contributed to textbook chapters on hip replacement surgery and participated in research evaluating robotic-assisted joint replacement. He regularly teaches orthopaedic trainees and national training courses, including ATLS.
