Dr Seamus Murphy

Dr Seamus J Murphy BSc (Hons), FRCP, PhD, AGAF is an experienced Gastroenterologist practising at Kingsbridge Private Hospital, Belfast, and Bon Secours Private Hospital, Dublin. He graduated from Queen's University Belfast in 1996 and trained in Northern Ireland and completed an Advanced Fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York. He completed a PhD in genetics and epidemiology assessing risks factors for oesophageal cancer (adenocarcinoma) and Barrett's Oesophagus. He has published over 40 research papers in peer-reviewed journals. He was Associate Professor of Gastroenterology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences 2006-2007, and is now in fulltime Private Practice. His special interests are inflammatory bowel disease, endoscopy and Barrett's Oesophagus.
