I trained in Northern Ireland and underwent fellowship training in Concord Repatriation Hospital in Sydney, Australia. My NHS practice is in the Ulster Hospital Dundonald, and private practice in the Ulster Independent Clinic and Kingsbridge Private Hospital. My clinical interests include the diagnosis of cancer of the oesophagus and stomach and the management of complex benign upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions. I offer weight loss surgery to eligible patients with appropriate work up consistent with National guidelines. My current research interests include patient informed consent and doctor's wellbeing.

Diagnosis and investigation of oesophagus, stomach and pancreas cancers. Treatment of hernias to include open and laparoscopic hernia surgery on an individualised basis. Management of gallstones including laparoscopic (keyhole) cholecystectomy and laparoscopic exploration to retrieve stones from the common bile duct. Diagnosis of patients with reflux, swallowing problems and abdominal pain. Antireflux surgery, surgery for hiatus hernia and surgery for achalasia. Weight loss surgery/bariatric surgery.
