Dr Sanjay Kumar

Dr Kumar is an experienced Consultant Cardiologist providing general and interventional cardiology services at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. He also performs both elective and emergency coronary intervention (angioplasty and stenting) at Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, one of the busiest heart attack centres in the country. He graduated with honours from St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School, University of London, with prizes and awards for research and clinical medicine, before completing his cardiology training in London. He underwent training in Interventional Cardiology at The Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust.   Dr Kumar was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy by Imperial College London after completing original research in the field of myocardial stunning, and has published articles in peer-reviewed journals on a range of interventional and general cardiology subjects. He is a member of the Kings Faculty Group overseeing the training of South London Cardiologists, and the South London Operational Delivery Network, modernising Cardiology services in South London . Dr Kumar is an approachable doctor, who takes pride in ensuring his patients are fully informed and receive personalised high quality care. His clinical practice entails all aspects of adult cardiology including the diagnosis and management of chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and non-invasive cardiac risk assessment, with particular expertise in coronary heart disease.
