Professor Samer Humadi

Currently Prof Humadi works as a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon at Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.   Prof Humadi has published and presented both nationally and internationally on various topics in bariatric surgery. He also offers the diagnosis and treatment of general and upper gastrointestinal surgical diseases including gallbladder surgery, open and laparoscopic abdominal wall hernia repair, hiatus hernia repair, anti-reflux surgery and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. All bariatric work is recorded on the National Bariatric Registry. Prof Humadi trained as a Clinical Research Fellow at Hammersmith Hospitals from 2000 to 2002 after which he undertook Higher Surgical training in General Surgery in South West England. After completing his general surgery training, he selected Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgery as a sub-speciality of interest. He was trained in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, Bristol Royal Infirmary, Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, Hamburg and Paris. He also performs robotic surgeries.

Laparoscopic surgery, Upper Gastrointestinal surgery and endoscopy, gallbladder removal, hiatus hernia repair and anti-reflux procedures, laparoscopic (TAPP) and open hernia repairs (inguinal, umbilical, paraumbilical, abdominal wall, epigastric, femoral, incisional), abdominal wall reconstruction, bile duct exploration, appendicectomy, spleen issues, excision of lesions/lipomas.  Weight loss surgery including Gastric Bypass, Sleeve Gastrectomy, Gastric banding, Intragastric Balloons, Revision surgery including gastric band removal, gastric band management service.
