Dr Salil Singh

I trained at undergraduate level in Edinburgh before moving to Manchester in 1999. During higher specialist training in gastroenterology, I completed a PhD in swallowing disorders at Manchester University and attained accreditation in both general medicine and gastroenterology.  I have over 10 years consultant experience at Royal Bolton Hospital and am Clinical Lead for Endoscopy and Bowel Cancer Screening. I have clinical interests in Nutrition, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Other areas of interest are the gut microbiome and upper gastrointestinal physiology.  I undertake gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy and wireless capsule endoscopy at the Beaumont Hospital, Bolton.  I try to adopt a relaxed style in clinic and the endoscopy unit and with this approach, I aim to ensure patients are comfortable discussing their care. This ensures patients are fully involved in their management.
