I studied medicine in Berlin, Germany, qualified in 1995 and received my MD degree (cum laude) in 1999 from the Humboldt University. I joined the NHS in 1998, completed the specialist training programme in London in 2008 and have been working in Somerset as consultant for gastroenterology & hepatology since 2009. My NHS work focusses on advanced endoscopy, including bowel cancer screening (accredited since 2021) and ERCP, and liver diseases.
