Mr Robert Walker

Mr Rob Walker is a Consultant Robotic and Laparoscopic Oesophagogastric and General Surgeon practicing at Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital, with an NHS consultant post at the Royal Surrey County Hospital and a specialist interest in upper gastrointestinal disease. He accepts referrals for benign and malignant oesophagogastric and general surgical conditions, including gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, hiatus hernia, dysphagia, achalasia, gallstone disease, abdominal wall hernia, skin and soft tissue lesions, and suspected or confirmed upper gastrointestinal cancer. Mr Walker offers assessment, investigation and treatment planning for patients with upper gastrointestinal symptoms, with access to all diagnostic pathways and multidisciplinary team input where required. His operative practice includes laparoscopic and robotic surgery, with a focus on safe, evidence-based care and enhanced recovery. He completed UK higher surgical training in Wessex and a advanced fellowship training in oesophagogastric surgery at St Thomas’. He holds a PhD in cancer biology, with research focused on chemotherapy response and perioperative optimisation and outcomes he remains involved in audit, research and surgical education. He is happy to see patients for advice, investigation, second opinions and operative management, and aims to provide clear communication back to referring GPs with timely, practical treatment plans.
