GMC reg: 4100409Mr Adamson is a Consultant ENT Surgeon working in Edinburgh. His interests are thyroid disease, salivary gland disease, voice and swallowing problems. He is an expert in the assessment and management of neck lumps. Mr Adamson is a member of the Thyroid Cancer team based at the Royal Infirmary and is also a member of the British Association of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeons. He frequently undertakes surgeries for benign and malignant thyroid disorders. Mr Adamson has a strong research background in swallowing and voice problems including a Masters Degree in advanced swallowing and voice research awarded by the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. He holds an honorary senior lecturership with the University of Edinburgh and is actively involved with training both medical students and postgraduate doctors. He chairs on the ENT Speciality Training Committee for the East of Scotland surgical trainees and is currently the Training Programme Director for the Eat of Scotland ENT Training Scheme. Mr Adamson's main research interest is in the management of pre-malignant diseases of the voice box and he runs the only specialist clinic for this problem in Scotland.
