Dr Reggie John

I qualified in medicine in India in 1987 (MBBS) and went on to complete further specialist training, gaining a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in1994. I moved to the UK in 1999 to continue my training and achieved MRCP in 2003. I have been working as a specialist in diabetes and endocrinology (hormone-related conditions since 2005. In 2011, I completed the Specialty Certificate Examination in Diabetes and Endocrinology, jointly awarded by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK, the Society for Endocrinology, and the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists. In 2024, I was honoured to be awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians. I currently work as a Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes and am the Pituitary Lead at Good Hope Hospital, part of University Hospitals of Birmingham. I am also involved in teaching and mentoring doctors as a Clinical Tutor within the UHB Trust. I am a member of the Society for Endocrinology, the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists, and the British Medical Association, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London. Earlier in my career, I was involved in clinical trials in diabetes at Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham. My areas of expertise include all aspects of general endocrinology and diabetes-related conditions, such as thyroid and pituitary disorders, raised prolactin, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), hormonal imbalances, adrenal conditions, calcium and bone disorders, and obesity. I believe in providing personalised, compassionate care, taking the time to listen and working closely with patients to find the best treatment approach for them.
