Ms Rebecca Ford

Rebecca Ford has been a consultant in ophthalmology and Oculoplastic surgery since 2011, and has been based at Bristol Eye Hospital since 2014. She qualified in medicine from Oxford University and holds Masters degrees in Anatomy from Cambridge University and Surgical Education from Imperial college London. Her postgraduate diplomas are MRCP, MRCSEd and FRCOphth. She is a sub specialist in Oculoplastics and performs all types of eyelid, lacrimal and orbital surgeries. She did her ophthalmology training in London followed by Oculoplastics fellowships in Brighton and Birmingham. Rebecca also has a special interest in medical education and is Head of the Severn School of Ophthalmology (residency program) and is serving as Chair of the Education Committee of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists from 2021 to 2025. She also supervises a popular Oculoplastics fellowship in Bristol and has trained fellows from around the world. One of her clinical interests is in Thyroid eye disease, and she is the Chair of the charity Thyroid Eye Disease Charitable Trust (TEDct). She is involved in research in TED, eyelid surgery and orbital approaches to skull base tumours. She was awarded an ACCIA National clinical excellence award in 2023.

Miss Ford specialises in the full range of oculoplastic surgery including: Eyelid disorders Blepharoplasty Ptosis Eyelid tumours and lesions Ectropion and entropion Lacrimal disorders and surgery including punctoplasty and DCR Watery eyes Orbital tumours and disorders Thyroid eye disease She also sees patients with minor eye conditions. Please note that she does not do cataract surgery or strabismus surgery.
