Mr Raymond Oliphant  is a leading  consultant colorectal  and  general surgeon  based in  Glasgow , practising at  Ross Hall Hospital ,  Ross Hall Clinic Braehead  and  Inverness Outpatient Centre . He is highly experienced in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of abdominal and digestive conditions, with particular expertise in  colonoscopy ,  robotic colorectal and general surgery ,  hernia repair  and  upper GI endoscopy . Dedicated to patient-centred care, Mr Oliphant welcomes individuals seeking help with  abdominal pain ,  rectal bleeding ,  altered bowel habits  or  unexplained weight loss , whether for initial consultation, a second opinion or ongoing management. Internationally trained in advanced minimally invasive techniques, Mr Oliphant is recognised as one of Scotland’s leading figures in robotic colorectal and general surgery. Having refined his skills in Vienna, Strasbourg, Santander, London and Copenhagen, he has pioneered the introduction of complex robotic procedures that significantly enhance precision, reduce post-operative discomfort and accelerate recovery times. Alongside his surgical expertise, he runs a high-volume colonoscopy and endoscopy practice and is fully JAG-certified. Mr Oliphant combines extensive training with a strong academic and leadership background. After completing higher surgical training in the West of Scotland, he undertook advanced fellowships at world-renowned centres including St Mark’s Hospital in London and Concord Repatriation Hospital in Sydney. He was awarded an MD from the University of Glasgow for research into colorectal cancer epidemiology and has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers. As Clinical Lead for Endoscopy across NHS Highland and NHS Golden Jubilee, and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen, he plays a key role in training the next generation of surgeons and maintaining the highest standards of care.
