My interests lie in diagnosing, investigating and treatment of children with blocked noses, hearing problems and sleep disorders arising from enlarged tonsil and adenoids. I have a special interest insurgical treatment of drooling in children. My NHS practice is based at Alder Hey Children’s hospital, Liverpool for over 12 years. I am the ENT lead for the Regional Cleft services providing hearing surgery for children with cleft palate serving the population of the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man. I am also the Trust Lead on Long Term Ventilation (LTV) patients and do a unique Joint complex airway clinic with our LTV consultant. I do Joint Allergy Rhinitis clinics with my Consultant Paediatric Allergist at Alder Hey Hospital. I have teamed up with consultant ENT colleague from Aintree, Neurosurgical and craniofacial consultants to establish an anterior skull base surgery and Rhinology service at Alder Hey hospital. I qualified at New Delhi, India in 1987. I have extensive overseas experience working in India and Bahrain. I have done my postgraduate surgical training in ENT surgery (adults and children) at Yorkshire deanery. I have developed a sub speciality interest in Paediatric Otolaryngology and Rhinology for which I have done fellowships in renowned international centres to further enhance my experience. I did focussed paediatric ENT training at Sheffield Children's Hospital and a year long clinical fellowship at Evelina Children's Hospital (part of Guys and St Thomas Hospital), London (2006 – 2007),where I gained valuable experience in airway reconstructive surgery in children. I have also done a Rhinology fellowship with Prof Stammberger in Austria (October 2004). I acquired a M Phil for research study on the hearing loss with age in CD-1 mice from Keele University in 2006. I have over thirty publications. I have been appointed an examiner for MRCS examination of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I am also the examiner for the final fellowship examination of the combined Royal college of surgeons in United Kingdom and Ireland. Personal profile: Outside my professional work, I am a family man with a lovely wife and two beautiful daughters one of whom is still in University. My Wife is extremely supportive despite being in full time employment herself. We encourage good family virtues in our children and have fun cycling and walking together.
