This information is provided by Mr Rajneesh Misra.
I am a Consultant in Spinal Disorders at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt (RJAH) Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry . My surgical foundation began in India, where I earned my MBBS from Madurai Medical College , followed by an MS in General Surgery from GSVM Medical College. I later achieved my MCh in Neurosurgery from the prestigious Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Science & Technology, Trivandrum, India. I worked as consultant neurosurgeon In India from 2012 to 2020 when I moved to the UK. To refine my expertise within the UK healthcare system, I obtained the FRCSEd (SN) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2019. This was followed by a series of sub-specialty fellowships designed to master the complexities of the human spine . I completed a dedicated Complex Spine Surgery Fellowship at The Walton Centre in Liverpool , followed by a dual-focused Post-CCT Fellowship that split my time between paediatric spine care at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and adult spinal disorders at RJAH . I have also been awarded the Fellowship of the Association of Indian Surgeons (FAIS) and formal certification as a medical expert witness . My clinical practice is rooted in the effective management of common spinal conditions, with the majority of my work focused on decompressive spinal surgery . I specialise in relieving pain and restoring mobility for patients suffering from nerve compression, typically caused by lumbar and cervical stenosis or disc herniations .By utilising both traditional and minimally invasive techniques , I ensure that the primary goal of surgery—decompressing the spinal cord and exiting nerves—is achieved with precision. While I am highly skilled in complex stabilisation , my day-to-day focus remains on high-volume, essential spinal care. This includes a strong commitment to the entire patient journey, from the initial consent process to structured post-operative rehabilitation . I work closely with physiotherapy teams to ensure that my patients begin their recovery exercises at the optimal time, aiming for the best possible long-term functional outcomes.
