Dr Mogal is a highly experienced Consultant in Respiratory and General Medicine with a specialist interest in Interventional Pulmonology and Lung Cancer. He completed his respiratory specialist training in London, gaining extensive experience at the Royal London Hospital and London Chest Hospital, before undertaking a Clinical Fellowship in Interventional Bronchoscopy at the renowned Thoraxklinik in Heidelberg, Germany. He specialises in advanced interventional procedures including Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS), endobronchial stenting, and bronchoscopic valve therapies. His expertise extends to pleural disease, thoracic ultrasound, medical thoracoscopy, and long-term pleural catheter management. Dr Mogal manages the full spectrum of respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, lung cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, lung infections (including tuberculosis), sarcoidosis, pulmonary nodules, sleep apnoea, and unexplained cough or breathlessness. Dr Mogal’s NHS practice is based at Watford General Hospital, where manages outpatient services, virtual hospital and performs a wide range of interventional procedures. He also serves as Honorary Consultant at University College London Hospital (UCLH). At Watford General Hospital, he has served as Clinical Lead for the department and Trust Lead for Lung Cancer. As Lead for Lung Cancer Services, he has been instrumental in streamlining patient pathways from pre-diagnosis to treatment. He is now the Lead Clinician for Lung Cancer screening, COPD MDT, and Interventional Pulmonology. He chairs the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Lung Network Cancer Group and previously led the West Essex & Hertfordshire STP for Lung Cancer. His contributions to healthcare have earned him NHS Clinical Excellence Awards , and he was part of the award-winning team for the prestigious “BMJ Respiratory Team of the Year” Award for comprehensive Covid-19 care, and the "Outstanding Innovation and Development" award at the Star of Herts Staff Awards. He collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Dr Mogal maintains a strong commitment to medical education and training. He acts as an Educational Supervisor for Respiratory trainees and senior fellows at Watford General Hospital. He is Co-Director of the "Advanced Course in EBUS, Mediastinal EUS, and Rapid On-Site Evaluation" and the "Introduction to Principles of Flexible Bronchoscopy" course. He regularly presents at national and international conferences. Highly regarded by his patients, Dr Mogal is known for his patient-centred approach, ensuring that patient concerns are fully understood and that management plans are tailored to individual needs and preferences. He resides locally with his wife and two daughters. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family and has a keen interest in cricket and tennis.
