Professor Zachary Whinnett

Professor Whinnett is a cardiologist with special interests in pacing, heart rhythm disturbances, and heart failure. He performs ablation for atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and implantation of pacemakers, including cardiac resynchronisation devices, conduction system pacing, and defibrillators.   Professor Whinnett practices with HCA Healthcare UK and at Imperial College NHS Trust, where he works principally at the Hammersmith and St Mary’s Hospital sites. Prof. Whinnett is an international expert and teacher in the field of cardiac pacemaker implantation and treatment of heart rhythm problems, training cardiologists from around the world, and is frequently asked to present at international scientific meetings. He also leads the research program in implantable cardiac devices at Imperial College London. Prof. Whinnett has published over 200 papers in international scientific journals and has supervised multiple Ph.D. students
