Professor Prof Bobby Prasad

Professor Bobby Prasad FRCP FRCPI FACP Professor Bobby Prasad is a Founding Partner of London Gastrointestinal Associates and is an expert in digestive disease and wellness. He is in full-time private practice. He was a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital from 2005 until 2012, where he was Clinical Lead. He also consulted at the Royal Marsden and Royal Brompton Hospitals in London. He is a Visiting Professor at the University of West London. Dr Prasad trained at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London and Boston USA. He also completed Advanced Endoscopy Fellowships at Yale University and in Therapeutic Endoscopy and ERCP in Charleston, under Professors Peter Cotton and Robert Hawes. At Yale, he was on Faculty as an Attending Physician, and was the recipient of the Yale New Haven Hospital All Star Award. He has also been awarded the Imperial College Teaching Excellence Award, the American College of Gastroenterology National Fellows’ Prize and an Astra-Zeneca Gastroenterology Travelling Scholarship. Dr Prasad was a Faculty Member on the National Endoscopy Training Program at St George's Hospital, London, and regularly taught advanced endoscopic techniques and colonoscopy to consultants and trainees in the UK and internationally. Dr Prasad was also an examiner for the Final MBBS examinations for Imperial College. He has co-chaired major international conferences on Oesophageal Cancer and Cystic Neoplasms of the Pancreas, and Cholangiocarcinoma. He was also invited to give a lecture on ‘Acute Gastrointestinal Bleeding’ at the prestigious Royal College of Physicians of London Update and the update on Gastrointestinal Cancers to GPs at the Royal Society of Medicine. Dr Prasad is fully accredited on the UK General Medical Council’s Specialist Register for Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine. He achieved Board Certification in Internal Medicine in the USA and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is both a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, and was a representative on the International Committee of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has regular reviewed for the journals GI Endoscopy, Annals of Internal Medicine and AP and T.

Professor Prasad specialises in all aspects of endoscopy, gastroenterology, and general hepatology including digestive wellness, irritable bowel syndrome, abdominal pain, gastrointestinal cancer screening, pancreas and biliary disease, obesity, inflammatory bowel disease, gastro-oesophageal reflux, gastrointestinal and rectal bleeding, jaundice, and abnormal liver function.
