GMC reg: 4119371Peter Szlosarek is a Professor of Medical Oncology at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital/Barts Cancer Institute, London. He studied Medicine and Pharmacology at King’s College, London and specialised in Medical Oncology completing a PhD in cancer biology at the University of London. He has been a physician scientist since 2008 studying the role of abnormal cancer metabolism involving the amino acid arginine. His main clinical and research interests are in thoracic cancers, especially mesothelioma, and skin cancers, including melanoma with a particular emphasis on targeted drugs involving metabolism and immunotherapy. Professor Szlosarek is involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate education and his research work has been presented at various international conferences with invited lectures in the US, Europe and Asia. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, the EORTC, AACR and ASCO.He is the recipient of two prestigious clinical research fellowships from Cancer Research UK, and serves as current Chair of the NCRI Mesothelioma Subgroup.
